Echoes of Janus

Today, Jukebox Time is featuring Psychotic Episodes, the new album by artist Echoes of Janus. The album features nine dynamic tracks, each offering a fantastic blend of multi-genre influences, each song brings a fresh energy and distinct vibe, showcasing the artist’s versatility and creative range. The track Alligator sets the album’s tone with sensational guitars and captivating vocals. It creates a layered sound that feels both powerful and immersive. With its dynamic rhythm and infectious energy, the track introduces listeners to the album’s raw energy.

Bette opens with an intriguing guitar intro and fuzzy vocal tones, progressing with a captivating arrangement. The song has a playful edge thanks to the artists unique vocal style, building up beautifully with layers of instrumentation introduced at each transition. Without any rhythmic backing, the pure musicality shines here. Listen for the experimental tonal shift at the song’s end—it’s undeniably a foot-tapping highlight of the album.

Beat You to Death is another standout track. With powerful guitar riffs and a rhythm section that packs a punch, this song delivers raw, rage-filled lyricism that cuts through the noise and demands attention. The guitar work is mesmerizing, forming a potent backdrop to Echoes of Janus’ edgy vocals. Celestial Bureaucracy offers a more upbeat vibe, blending a classic arrangement with artists’ signature style. The drums drive the song, and the vocals channel a vintage sound from the ’60s and ’70s, reinvented with artists’ modern creativity—a brilliant fusion of nostalgic tones and fresh ideas. The experimental fuzz in the middle section elevates the album’s balance and musical depth, while cascading rhythms in the transitions give it a fascinating metamorphosis, grabbing listeners’ attention instantly.

However, the real highlight lies in Please Send Us Some Love, the album’s most experimental piece. The guitar work here departs from previous tracks, delivering a bold and refreshing sound that defines the album’s boundary-pushing spirit. The artists’ vocals showcase an expressive, unconventional style with a rawness rarely heard today. It’s this authenticity that defines Echoes of Janus’ work—a fearless blend of creativity, boldness, and emotional depth.

This raw quality is the essence of true artistry. The artists’ music doesn’t rely on polish or convention; instead, it connects on a visceral level, inviting listeners into a shared journey of feeling and expression. His commitment to unfiltered creativity makes each track an authentic experience, taking us along on a journey where we sense the music as he does. Echoes of Janus’ bold, unrestrained sound is a breath of fresh air in today’s music scene.

We highly recommend this album, now streaming on all major platforms.

“After playing guitar for 20+ years, I mostly took a hiatus for several years while my children were growing up, but when they got old enough that they didn’t spend much time with mom and dad anymore, I was eager to start playing again. I decided to take some guitar classes online through Berklee School of Music in Boston, and one of the classes I had to take was a music technology class, which rocketed me into the 21st century in terms of music and recording technology. That (as well as continued learning and exploration) opened up a world of musical opportunities that had not existed for me before, including the ability for me to record, mix, engineer and master my own music. It was probably in 2019 that I set a goal of recording my own album by the time I was 50 (missed that goal), but my intention was to do it with a band, as I’m a very poor drummer (even that’s a bit generous) and I have never had any desire whatsoever to write lyrics or sing lead vocals, nor have I ever considered myself any good at either one. I spent a little over three years trying to find the right group of people, and despite working with a few combinations that yielded several good original songs, for various reasons, none of them ended up working out.” – Echoes of Janus.
