The Simpleton’s Latest EP ‘Let Love Wait’ – A Nostalgic Yet Fresh Sonic Journey

The Simpletons

Today, Jukebox Time is featuring The Simpleton’s new EP Let Love Wait is a mesmerizing six-track experience that blends nostalgia with modern brilliance. We had an exclusive preview and were instantly captivated by its dynamic range and artistry.

The journey begins with the powerful title track Let Love Wait, a peppy yet unconventional sonic sojourn. The arrangement dazzles with unexpected tonal shifts, while the vocals shine with sublime texture—showcasing the band’s true mastery.

God Knows stands out as a sensational departure from their usual style, taking a bold creative leap. The track carries a nostalgic warmth, evoking memories of a bygone era, yet it’s beautifully reimagined with the band’s signature modern flair.

What makes Let Love Wait truly special is how it balances familiarity and innovation. The music feels like a cherished memory—refreshing yet deeply resonant, as if the past and present harmonize effortlessly.

We were thoroughly impressed and highly recommend streaming this gem. Let Love Wait is now available for purchase on Bandcamp—don’t miss it!

About the band: The Simpletons first formed in the early ’90s as college friends in Dallas, Texas but were on hiatus until guitarist Brian McMurtry and Nathan Fynn rekindled their friendship with their 2023 EP Trampling Roses. For their next single, they enlisted the help of original member Scott McTaggart on bass guitar, and finally Kari Campbell on vocals and keyboards.
