Interview with R Scott Reath, Author of ‘2030 Last Call for Humanity?’

R Scott Reath

Jukebox Time recently got a chance to interview R Scott Reath in regard to his new book 2030 Last Call for Humanity? We got insights into his book, his source of inspiration and much more!

Q. Welcome to Jukebox Time! How are you doing?

I am doing great, Thank you.

Q. Your new book 2030 Last Call for Humanity? is now available on Lulu. Please tell us about your book.

It’s one man’s story of resistance to a darkening and technocratic world in which the society become so overbearing that he, his girlfriend attorney and a few others decide they have to leave the planet if they want to taste true freedom. It’s also a reminder in how often escape plans fail to align perfectly with hasty goals. There’s military grade robots, Microwave emitting weapons, fractured love. It’s a real Sci-fi/dystopian adventure.

Q. Any words of advice for aspiring writers?

Perseverance pays off, watch out for scam laden offers to promote your book on social media, Don’t jump through hoops to humour publishers, and I’m not huge fan of editors. I want to read my favourite author’s words not what someone else thought would look better. I want my name on the book alone, writing isn’t a shared experience until it’s in the readers hands.

2030 Last Call for Humanity

Q. Who is your favorite author and why?

I have been influenced by so many for a host of different reasons, but I could say that Rod Serling would be closest to the top of the list, given that he changed the way society views the world more than most.

Q. What daily routines or habits keep your creativity flowing?

I don’t keep any sort of predictable schedule but I aggressively resist the idea of writer’s block. You cannot go to any job expecting a paycheck and say I don’t feel inspired or I’m not feeling it today. When I sit down to work I go full throttle and don’t let up until I’m spent.

Q. Finally, as we ask all our guests on Jukebox Time, do you have any closing thoughts that you would like to share with the world and our readers?

There is a lot of official dishonesty in the world, Read as much as you possibly can and seek out counter arguments to what you are being fed and decide for yourself where the truth lies.

The book is now available on Lulu.
